I. Lead Oxide Chemical Pb3O4: is one of the extremely toxic chemicals, red in color, has a low melting point so it is used to polish enamel, and has the advantage of brightening colors, especially the red system. However, it is very dangerous to use because when inhaled, it will cause respiratory failure, if inhaled a lot, it will cause chest and abdominal pain; avoid contact with skin because it can penetrate the skin and cause poisoning. To use, lead must be contained in a nylon bag and placed in a tin can with a lid, in a dry place, away from acidic and alkaline environments. Must wear an active mask, protective glasses and rubber gloves when in contact with this toxic chemical.
II. Barium carbonate BaCO3 chemicals: Also toxic, white, used to make rat poison, bricks and enamel. Although BaCO3 has a high melting point, when combined with frit and other oxides, it reduces the firing temperature of the system, dulls the enamel surface, increases the mechanical strength and acid resistance of the enamel. However, it should only be used in small, moderate amounts, avoid excess because if it is not completely silicated during the firing process, it will seep into the water, causing poisoning. In some cases, people use SrO to replace BaO. Must wear an activated mask, protective glasses and rubber gloves when in contact with this toxic chemical.
III. Sodium Carbonate Na2CO3 Chemical: Also known as soda ash light, it is a white salt, soluble in water, hygroscopic, highly corrosive, and quickly damages the mold. Avoid inhalation. When using, wear a mask, gloves, and wash your hands thoroughly after mixing. Direct contact with skin will cause itching and skin corrosion.
IV. Silicate Glue Chemicalsis an electrolyte, creating a suspension system that is applied to the soil in a very small proportion (<0.8%) to loosen the paste, increasing the flexibility of the paste. It is a white liquid or slightly yellow (due to impurities in the cooking process), soluble in water, highly viscous, and very corrosive, avoid direct contact with the skin. If accidentally gets on the skin, wash with water. When using, it must be stored in a plastic container, covered after use because if air gets in, it will gradually dry and harden on the surface.
V. Copper Oxide Chemical Cu2O: red, packed in 5kg nylon bags), very smooth and has a very unpleasant pungent smell. When using, wear a protective mask. After use, tie the mouth tightly, avoid contact with air to limit unwanted oxidation reactions, causing black copper.
