1.Description

– CYC is a solvent with moderate volatility, has the ability to dissolve many organic substances well, and is the starting material for the synthesis process.

– Pure CYC is a clear, high-boiling liquid with a characteristic ketone odor. It is soluble in organic solvents but insoluble in water. Pure CYC may turn yellow.

– Solubility:

· Dissolve cellulose derivatives such as: cellulose nitrate, cellulose acetate, cellulose acetobutyrate, ethyl cellulose, chlorinated rubber, vinyl chloride polymer: pure vinyl chloride, chlorinated vinyl chloride.

2.Application

a. Adhesive industry

– CYC is an additive in PVC glue to regulate the evaporation rate.

b. Chemicals:

– Used as a solvent for pesticides and fungicides

– Raw material for the synthesis of special organic substances in the production of adipic acid, acprolactam and nylon6

– Raw material for the production of herbicides, amines, emulsifiers, antihistamines and catalysts in the synthesis of polyester resins

c. Leather:

Used as a bleaching agent and an additive to increase the adhesion of colored paint.

d. Coating

– Additives in surface coatings: anti-moisture and anti-opacity for cellulose nitrate lacquer, increase flow for cellulose acetate lacquer and paint stripper.

– Ingredients in solvent mixtures for PVC and printing ink

– Raw material for synthesizing other types of plastic

d. Weaving

– Used as an additive in alkaline soaking solution and aluminum soap for soaking fibers

e. Packaging

• Co-solvent for cellulose nitrate in cellophane coatings
